Photography
As a photographer with 15+ years of experience, I have known many genres and approaches. I have tried everything from product and lifestyle photography to social/documentary, nude and abstract. I have been following the non-award-winning approach for the most of my photography journey (more on that soon), yet I enjoy making unconventional and performance-like photo experiences as part of my artistic expression. As a commercial photographer, I love presenting events, portraits, products through the lifestyle lens to give more depth and context to the shots.
Videography
With my 10+ years of experience in videography, I have come to realisation: I strive to create aesthetic, breathtaking, yet gentle and not head-on experiences for the viewers and clients. For the most part, I craft cinematic documentary, promotional and brand awareness, event, interviews, product, and tutorial videos. I especially enjoy shooting (for) people crafting things manually, makers, artists, smaller businesses and social causes.
Content production
I see things strategically — this is my superpower. For me, content production is a long-term effort of designing, crafting and curating visual (photo and/or video) experiences. People hire me as someone who can make their brands more alive and vibrant through authenic, photo/video content for digital and social media platforms. I am also often responsible for expanding brand’s image through crafting distinctive color styles via presets, and LUTs that can be used in future.
Quirks
- I strive to craft most of it in-camera: I never use apps like Photoshop, and I never rely on AI to magically remove or add anything;
- I like combining performance with photography: more on that later;
more
- I think long-term, often noticing things long before they become the “new norm”;
- I am a minimalist, caring deeply about only a few people and a few hobbies/interests;
- I’m deliberate: I change who I am, and don’ follow the “I can’t help the way I am” approach;
- I hate noise, and pursue if not silence, then at least signals: that’s why you probably won’t find me on popular social media platforms — among other things;
- I don’t waste time and approach it as if one hour of my time is worth $1000: thinking this way, would you watch yet another TV show?
- I care more about quality, than quantity: in life, work, connections;
- I am a bookworm, reading approximately 30+ books a year;
